PhillyMINI presents Cooper Cup XI | 05.16.10
Spring 2010 Cooper Cup Competition is here!
We are affectionately calling this one the “Choose Your Own Adventure”
Cooper Cup, which will only make perfect sense once you hear the full
rules at the drivers meeting.
Some Background or What is the Cooper Cup?
The PhillyMINI Cooper Cup is a trivia rally. It is not a time, speed,
distance (TSD) rally. It is based on correct answers to clues and the
least amount of mileage accumulated over the course (or outside of the
course if you really get lost).
Each team (driver/navigator) will register using their rally name.
(Can't think of a rally name? Use Google! This is a Philadelphia
themed rally so pick your favorite street, building, neighborhood, or
whatever you called that pothole you hit last time you were in the
city. On second thought, since we have kids here, maybe that pothole
idea isn’t a good one.)
If you're a speed demon you're guaranteed to come in last and may not
find your way home! Correct answers to the clues in the least amount
of mileage are the key to winning. It will also test your teamwork
skills.
The competition will be held RAIN or SHINE.
You must have a navigator to participate in this event. This will be
enforced for this event. This competition will take place entirely
within Philadelphia. This requires an extra level of attention with
regards to the traffic, pedestrian traffic, lights, one-way streets
etc. For this reason you must have a navigator so the driver can
concentrate on driving. Don't have a navigator? Post to the forums to
find a teammate!
